Rushmoor Coarse Lakes

Three lakes set in a wooded valley, close to CHURT, FRENSHAM, TILFORD, ELSTEAD, HINDHEAD. The entrance is opposite Rushmoor Post Office, where tickets may be purchased during opening hours or on the bank side from the bailiffs when they come round.

On entering Rushmoor lakes, you arrive in the 1st CAR PARK beside Kingfisher Lake, where Kingfishers are busy all day long. A picturesque 2 acre lake, with large Carp, Chub, Roach, Tench, Golden Orfe etc. Some 15 pegs – this is ideal for small matches which are the only times when keep-nets are permitted. The lake contains surface plants, where carp feed all day long. Best fish 18 lb carp. All species of carp are stocked Common, Leather, and Mirror etc. The water tumbles into the crystal-clear stream below Kingfisher Lake - Ideal here for float fishing.

Drive from the 1st car park along the winding track, across the narrow bridge through the woodland to 2nd car parking area along side Pine Tree Lake. So called because there are ancient pines and cedar trees flanking both sides of the 4 acre lake. The trees offer shade on hot - days. Weed free, this is ideal for ledger and float fishing. There are 25 pegs - well spaced. Best fish, 24 lb Carp, 3 ½ lb Roach, double figure Orfe.

We do not advertise Rushmoor Lakes as a big fish water, as we prefer plenty of action. You will have no-chance sleeping as average catches are 50-75 fish per day often in excess of 100.
