Robinswood (Frensham Trout Fishery) with its 6 lakes situated on the Surrey / Hampshire borders, in a wooded valley, well away from the hustle & bustle. Drive along the winding track for 1/4 mile - you first come to Kingfisher Lake (where kingfishers abound). The waterfall tumbles into Whitmore Vale Stream (full of wild brownies). Continue on 200 yards up into the car park adjacent to 'The Nest' (wooden clubhouse) with a vista of Robins Lake, some 2 acres of crystal clear water.

On one side 'ancient woodland' lines the banks, & on the opposite side carefully tended grass & walkways, leading to picnic areas, bbq area with seating. Across the dam leads to Willow Pool where Brown Trout & Tigers are often stocked. When you start to wander you will arrive at Meadow Pool & Heron Lake at the top of the valley (a very tranquil spot).

Well known for DRY FLY & NYMPH fishing Robinswood is a wandering place! Stop for a chat with fishermen, discuss what dry flies are working & where the fish are rising. Whether you fish for 'Wild Browns' or hard fighting Rainbow / Brown Trout - Robinswood is the place for you! Some will say it's the most tranquil place on earth where wildlife abounds, large numbers of birds, (including Kingfishers galore) deer, badgers, foxes & rabbits (wild rabbits are so tame they sit with you all day).

STOCKING is twice weekly with fish from 2 lb to double figures!

BEST FISH: 21 lb Rainbow - 19 1/2 lb Brown - 6 1/2 lb Tiger - Best Wild Brown 3 1/2 lb.

FLY LIFE: Masses of Damsel & Sedge, Daddy Long Legs are a real winner-Summer /Autumn. Buzzer fishing is superb all year round. Best Nymph is Mayfly Nymph in May & June - with tremendous Dry Mayfly hatch that goes on for 2 months or more.

This is my favourite C&R smallwater, very secluded and great for improving your casting skills be it by way of back casting through the big oaks, or side casting on the hem of the birch trees lining the lake, for those who dont want to challenge their casting abilities, Richard has recently cut back the birch trees on the west bank, as the snow load felled them recently! The dry fly fishing is outstanding, with fish rising all year round with a PB of 21 fish for the day on cdc & wulffs, and with a particular damsel technique I took 19 fish in 5 hrs (Friday 12th Feb 10) The fishery is in a secluded valley wall approximately 120feet wide with steep bank rising to 40 feet on east and a gradient rising to farmland on the west, buffeted by birch trees, wind is quite rare, The pools also

28/2/09 was a red-letter day for me. 6 trout caught, smashing my PB with a fish of just under 8lb. This is the most intimate place I have ever fished. On my first trip here in Jan 08 I caught 10 (yes 10!) trout and I was a complete novice. I love this place.
